1. What position do you hold at BIOTON?

I am the Chief Accountant.

2. What are your responsibilities at BIOTON?

I am responsible for the accounting aspects of the Bioton Group. Together with the Accounting Team, we record every financial transaction and economic event that Bioton is involved in. We prepare and submit tax declarations, and most importantly, we create all the financial reports and statements published on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

3. What was your path to your current position?

My path in this organization wasn’t long, as I started working at Bioton in this position in July 2019.

4. What are you most proud of in your work?

The start of my work coincided with the audit and preparation of the semi-annual financial statement for a period when I wasn’t yet part of the company. It was quite a challenge, but it brought great satisfaction when we met the deadline and the publication was made on time. Currently, what gives me the most joy is working with my team. Since I started, a lot has changed in our department. We’ve implemented several systems, improved processes, and, above all, the team has grown and embraced change. Together, we are achieving things that once seemed impossible.

5. What inspires you in your work?

While accounting may seem like a closed field, I have always been inspired by the people I meet along my professional journey. Thanks to them, I grow every day. Every interaction brings new experience, which I apply to my work. Additionally, deadlines motivate me – these small goals that we reach, growing and improving with each cycle.

6. What advice would you give to individuals starting their career path?

After work, I devote some time to organizing my household. We all, including our dog, have “extracurricular activities”. For me, it’s zumba, where I release the emotions of the day. On warm days, I enjoy cycling, but often the best relaxation comes from a good movie or book. Surprisingly, last spring I also discovered that gardening gives me a lot of satisfaction.

7. Do you have any motto or principle that guides you in life?

I’ve noticed a connection between what guides me in life and my profession. The Accounting Act includes terms like “reliable” and “real”. I translate that into my personal life as “be true” – so I’d say my motto is “be true in life”.

8. What advice would you give to people starting their career?

It may not be easy at first, but try to find work that you enjoy because only then will you be truly engaged – and that is the foundation. Also, be open, reliable, learn from your mistakes, and celebrate your successes.
