1. What position do you hold at BIOTON?

Currently, I work as a Quality Control Coordinator.

2. What are your responsibilities at BIOTON?

My work in the quality control area mainly involves:

  • registering all samples for analysis
  • ensuring and registering all reagents, standards, and materials
  • overseeing hygiene during work
  • distributing and archiving documentation
  • overseeing all archives (finished product, raw materials and intermediates, packaging materials, and intermediates)
  • overseeing the issuance of all reagents, standards, cleaning agents, and other necessary materials
  • overseeing stability testing of finished products (Gensulin, RHI, Lispro)
  • reporting any defects – of course, if I am able to address them independently, I do so 🙂

3. What was your path to your current position?

I started working at our company in 2002. Previously, I completed school internships in the field of quality control at the Duchnice Plant. My adventure with this area began with the position of QC Inspector at ZFG. I worked there until 2019 and rose to the position of QC Specialist. At that time, I was transferred to the Preparatory Team in QC and was appointed Coordinator of the Preparatory Team, where I still work today. In 2022, my position changed to Senior QC Specialist with the function of Preparatory Team Coordinator, and in 2023, I was promoted to QC Coordinator.

4. What are you most proud of in your work?

I am very proud that my entire team was created by me from scratch – of course, with the help of my colleagues, but there has never been such a team in QC before. The beginnings were not easy; as they say, one learns best from their own mistakes and experiences.

5. What inspires you in your work?

People give me the greatest inspiration and motivation at work. The fact that I can help them solve various problems and successfully resolve them is very fulfilling.

6. How do you like to spend your time after work? Do you have any hobbies?

Nowadays, after work, I have a second job as a “mom driver,” and when I finally return home happily and deal with daily duties, my most pleasant moment is to sit down for a while and watch an interesting program or movie. I eagerly await the start of the cycling season so I can ride my bike to work and combine pleasure with usefulness. I also can’t skip the topic of my love for animals and helping them. My herd keeps growing. Currently, I have 4 cats: Tosia, Kora, Marek and Filemon; 2 dogs: Saba and Benio – and 8 chickens.

7. What book, film, podcast, or other content has recently impressed you?

Recently, while browsing the internet, I came across videos of the slaughter of farm animals, which completely shook me. I think the world should seriously consider reducing the amount of meat consumed by people. On a lighter note: I recently went to the cinema to see ‘The Academy of Mr. Kleks’ and I was impressed by the film and its scope. I was pleasantly surprised, although I definitely prefer the previous versions – probably because they remind me of my childhood.

8. Do you have any motto or principle that guides you in life?

You could say that my principle at work is to behave in such a way that I can look at myself in the mirror every morning and try to act in a way that does not harm others. Sometimes it’s not easy because unintentionally hurting another person can happen. Besides, I definitely don’t like to leave work for “tomorrow.” Those who know me, know that what I have to do tomorrow, I will do today 🙂

9. What advice would you give to individuals starting their career path?

I think that with honest work and dedication, you can achieve a lot.
